i hate buffalo. & i’m not joking, nor do i require $10 to vent it. i’m a student, & since i’m not a well-off student, i’m here for my undergrad. why do i hate buffalo? 1) UB breeds mediocrity; 2) tyranny of a small town, i.e. if one doesn’t adopt the habitual small town congeniality when seeing an acquaintance every time one walks down the street, then one is deemed as an “snob, elitist, b***h…”; 3) god forbid if one happens to be an introvert, or solitary, or private, or withdrawn, or even depressed… the natives get restless & mutter amongst themselves “who does she think she is anyways?!”; 4) there’s an endless supply of creepy old men that prey on young women in allentown; 5) buffalonians seem to prefer the homogenization of individuals so that that everyone is “equal”; 6) the cops are corrupt; 7) per capita, the crime in increasing;
not even vincent gallo likes buffalo, & he’s a native; 9) there lacks any decent pizza, clothing boutiques, mexican restaurant, intelligent nightlife, diverse culture…; & 10) the natives all seem to have a tinge of bitterness, foulness, & hopelessness.

haha very funny sue i agree with you on that…..i am a student at ub and i do agree buffalo sucks in general..absolutely nothing to do and the crime rate against student are staggering. buffalonian are so retarded that they would want to target students rather than a non student with a profession and for some reason the 50+ men always try to hit on the wayyyyy younger girls…jobs have horrible pay, their pizza definitely is tasteless and extra greasy, groceries are ridiculously expensive and everyone just isn’t pleasant in anyway

ive been stuck here for two years (military). this place is a piece of shit. about 1/10th of the people ive met are decent the rest are cocky b*tches and f*cking a*sholes. the only thing ive enjoyed are the bars on chippiwa or however the f*ck you spell it. EVEN those bars are a piece of shit. Seriously if your not single and you are going to a bar to dance drink and have fun dont bring your f*cking boyfriends? OTHER THEN THAT. what the hell is there to do? go to canada and spend a shit load on money on strip clubs expensive alcohol and wendys that charges up the a*s? this place is boring, most of the people are shit, half the cops are hiding and asleep and when they do come out they like to f*ck people over with tickets rather then looking out and lowering the crime rate in areas that need it. look at that sh*t. its just a long run on sentence. this place is awful and the people make it worse.

I love how everybody on the tubes loves to bash Buffalo but nobody ever actually gives the real reason why Buffalo sucks so bad.
So I will:
NYC and Albany. They’re bleeding this place dry, why the hell do you think the tax rates are so high? Because Buffalo spends so much money? There is no end to their stupidity and greed and I wish we could just secede from their bullshit circle jerk already.
Buffalo does suck for young people looking for hype scene bullshit, of course. If all you want to do is go out to bars and pretend you’re a superstar then surely it isn’t worth your precious time. But if you have a family and you want them to actually be able to go to a decent school that isn’t loaded with bums, crackheads and pill popping scumbags then this place has its advantages.
But like I said, if you wanna be a wannabe then its not for you, and you should, by all means, head to some overpriced hype scene shithole so you can get mugged outside you $1500.00 a month hostel looking studio apartment. If you want a decent public or private education, if you want a stable real estate market or if you want a reasonable cost of living and an old school home town environment then this place is for you.
If you want to be a fresh superstar and screw somebody different every night then stay away from here. To be honest, I wish all the orange skinned oompa-loompa looking morons from Long island would stay the hell away from here, along with all the asshole douchebags from NYC that are all attitude and no personality. I know you think you’re the freshest of the fresh because you come from the greatest city on earth and have decided to grace us with you magical presence but you know what? YOU AIN’T SHIT, otherwise you wouldn’t be here. I also wish all the Midwestern cornballs with no personality would stay the hell out too, go back to your mega-malls okay?
Buffalo has been screwed over 3 ways from Sunday by loser politicians for decades, but there are things here that can’t be found elsewhere. And given that the US economy is in free-fall and all these formerly marvelous places to live with their 1 million dolla McManisions are now laid to waste because people actually got wise to how much of a scam it all was what do you think is going to happen here? People are going to start to come here because they can’t afford their ARM mortgages and their Lexus SUVs anymore.
Jobs are scarce here, that’s a fact, but the reasons for it do not lie with the bunch of dumb Pollocks that run City Hall. They’re bad, but they’re not as bad as the human scum from Albany that keeps this place in hock. Don’t believe me? Then do some research. Its going to take a seismic shift to get this place competitive again, but that may have just happened this year. It was called the housing bust.

I agree. Buffalo DOES in fact suck, and its shitty suburbs are no better. I live in the Oklahoma City area now and I have to say, there are TONS of jobs here, and I love having 85 degree days in the middle of Winter. Y’all can hold off on the tornado jokes cuz most people that live here have never even seen one, we just hear about it on the news.
I will never move back to Buffalo, main reasons are: shitty weather for 7 months out of the year, HIGH TAXES (thanks to new york state), and lack of jobs.
BTW, the area im in now is #6 in the nation as fars as growth is concerned and theyre constantly putting up new buildings and growing at an amazing pace, its as if i’m Witnessing the birth of a future Metropolis.

A “Buffalo Sucks” forum! What a novel idea!
I’m a transplant from Buffalo living now in the sunny Bay Area of California, a vastly superior area brimming with social and economic opportunities and countless outdoor activities year-round. Beyond the lousy weather that the city has long become notorious for, the perpetually depressed economy, the glaring lack of exciting activity prospects, and the laughably bad professional sports franchises the locals care far too much about, I feel Buffalo “sucks” basically because a substantial portion of the city’s residents “suck”: many are antisocial, nasty, and all-in-all contemptible. Is it any wonder then, that during my childhood, many of my peers were punks, goons, and in general antagonistic problem children, even supposedly in a “good” suburban school district?
All in all, the city itself has very few redeeming qualities, and its proximity to Canada and high-calorie gastronomic fare are nothing to write home about. Definitely not home in Buffalo, anyway. I haven’t been back to visit in nearly a decade and a half and intend to keep things that way.

The physical area of Buffalo is great. The nature, and the architecture, and the natural wonders. But the city is dead. All the normal people have left. I my self am leaving. F NYC, and F NYS. They are the reason why this place blows. I wish we could be our own state, and then I would move back, till then F Buffalo, or as it should be known the Shity of Buffalo.
Can you believe that in the 1940’s people actually wanted to move here, it was a getaway for the rich folk (hence the mansions on delaware). Now its a toilet for crooked politicians, toxic waste, and crackheads.

Buffalo sucks. Everyone here is completely artificial and fake. The parents raise their kids to be ignorant trolls. Most people here are indeed “unpleasant” to say the very least. The Cops are not only corrupt but generally assholes with too much time on their hands. They aren’t even trying to fix the problems anymore so they’re going to expand the medical industry, as if they even need it.
Just being born here was a mistake. Living here puts you at such a disadvantage. I’m 25 and I’m telling you it’s freaking difficult if you strive against conformity at all. You just stay in your group and that’s it, you don’t converse at all with anyone.
The worst part is all these people defending buffalo like it’s some great place to live. They make up all these lies because they don’t want to accept the consequences of somebody else’s failure. It’s not their fault but they just don’t know what to do about it so they look away. There are some wealthy people here and watching them live their perfect lives will sincerely make you feel like shit.
There are a lot of crackheads everywhere here too, both city and suburb. The whole place is 1 big pile of phlegm except for the gated communities and wealthy neighborhoods.
This place will seriously make you want to off yourself if you stay here long enough. The people here are HORRIBLE!!! And I say that as a Native, I grew up here, the people I grew up with were terrible people.
Everything about this place is a horror story.
Stay OUT of Buffalo!

Yes indeed, Buffalo sucks. Why? Because the people who live there are so defensive about it that it makes them sound ignorant. How about this reasonable answer? Yes, Buffalo, like any smaller city in the US has it’s limitations but it suits those with a desire for a lifestyle with a more small town atmosphere. That sounds reasonable. I grew up in Buffalo and because I cared for neither hockey or football, I plotted my escape from about age 10 on. Honestly, friends of mine who still live in Buffalo were never particularly adventurous folk interested in another lifestyle to begin with. They tend to be afraid of other ways of life and seek he familiar. Most people I know who have moved back have done so because they have not been successful in larger city markets. It’s also very conformist town. Their defensiveness is part of a “love of or leave us” school of thinking. If you l;ive in Buffalo you better damn love it or they will eat you alive! To live in Buffalo you have to love it for friends, family and “same old, same old” because it’s mind numbingly boring otherwise. And I would never raise my children in a community that basically thrives on the idea that education and experience are not nearly as important as the ignorant attitude “Buffalo is the Best.” Very Sarah Palin-esque.

I can’t stand Buffalo. I’ve worked in the Buffalo area for 15 years. I have a bachelor’s degree and I never got anywhere until I was 36 years old. It just sucks rotten eggs. I take the bus and I can’t even find a place to go to the bathroom. Everthing shuts down at 5:30 pm. PATHETIC.

Buffalo sucks!! How does it suck? Well, the weather sucks. The sun does not exist for 10 months of the year. The Great Lakes are nothing compared to the oceans. The food sucks. Everything is old and run-down. Of course, people say it’s “historic”. Philadelphia is historic. Buffalo just has old crap that they can’t afford to renovate. The women are ugly because all of the good ones went to better cities. Buffalo is in a constant state of poverty.
But the absolute worst part of it all, is that residents here actually defend Buffalo! I mean, they actually like living here. They are so friggin stupid that they actually delude themselves into liking it here. That is just pathetic. I leave in 8 months. And I will never come back to this sh*thole.
